The Beachcomber comes with a story…

I love venturing to Vancouver’s beaches in the summertime. Especially the ones a little off the beaten path. My favourites are between Dundarave and Horseshoe Bay.

On one particular day I was delighted to find two pieces of driftwood in the ideal shape of bag handles. I tucked them into my tote…and brought them back to the studio.

For several days I just admired them. Then one day…I saw in my mind…the bag that they would belong to. I smiled.

So, I sanded them and put a coat of varathane on them. Hmmm…somehow they were still missing something. Ahhh yes…they needed evidence of the story they would tell…so I wrapped them in printed text.
