the t.o.g hand bag: british tan
There is so much inspiration in history, especially in the world of design. Often it's necessity that gets the ball rolling, but soon enough style and beauty take over. The evolution of small hand bags is a good example of this, and 1800's Europe would be the era to visit to see the fashionable unfolding of this accessory.
If t.o.g could make an offering to the handbag's of the 1800's, there would be no jewels or embroidery, there would only be leather, spun into edgy elegance, that lacy arm gloves wouldn't be able to resist. And, that's the inspiration behind the wee t.o.g hand bag.
For each one, the handles are hand dyed and subtly embossed with a textured floral image. They are doubled up purely for style and aesthetic. The stitching style creates the slight rounding of the font and back of the bag, giving it a lovely shape even with nothing in it.
It's a wee bag with plenty of charm.
