the Wylie Street backpack.

serendipity named this one for me...again.

Here's the story.

If you don’t know, I live in Vancouver, BC. I walk to and from my shop everyday because it's my favourite way to get there. Life has so much for me to marvel at and I prefer seeing wonder in slow motion.

Well, one of my routes takes me over the Cambie street bridge.

Hundreds of times i've looked over to see the street named, "Wylie", suspended in mid air. I always thought it to be a cool name.

Then, wouldn't you know, one fine day a beautiful soul bearing the exact same name, wanders into my shop with the hope I could bring to life the backpack she'd been dreaming of, but couldn't seem to find anywhere.

alas...the Wylie Street was born.

Seeing the first of any of my designs, come to life, is always incredible to me. How it is that imagination flows through my fingers into a form, is a glorious mystery.

But, I sure am grateful to be the channel.

• the leather is vegetable tanned cowhide, hand dyed with an antique fudge brown finish.

• nickel plated, solid brass hardware

• 9-10oz black Italian, veg tanned, strapping.
